After days, and months, the focus of the news has shifted from Covid, or Vaccine, and the question of the closing or opening of international borders, and what else is happening in the world has come into the lime light!  There has been a car bomb blast in Afghanistan, which killed tens of people, female students, children mainly, and now a clash between Israel and Palestine that has been raging for the past couple of days, ten Israelis and 100 Palestinians have been killed.... and it goes on. A bloody story which seem to have continued from the time immemorial.  People clashing for power, property, or for their different ways of praying to the same God!  The reasons are many, but we know, it is mainly because of Politics Religion Polticised religion Religionised politics  Religiosity Political fervour That forces people to kill each other. But it is time to remember That no one, not any one has won this war, this holy war! 

I am a soldier I change the history and carve the future I go to the battlefields that I don’t choose I fight the wars that I don’t win or lose I shoot their targets till they win! I get shot still they win! I don’t have a reason but I kill and maim I am a soldier I don’t have a face and I don’t have a name!   I am  not a coward but sometimes I do cry I’m not brave, but I am not scared to die I am not ruthless but I kill I am not merciful but I never will shoot for pleasure or for power I just follow their order without honour or shame! I just march I don’t ask Whether it is a just war Whether it is a wrong war Whether it is for the left or for the right I just do my duty, put on their uniform and fight I don’t get the credit or the blame I am a soldier I don’t have a face and I don’t have a name!   I leave behind what I have to, my home, my youth, and my beloveds!   When they asked us to gather all our belongings and make a bonfire  We didn't recoil, we lit up the skies It was for a cause and we wanted  complete annihilation for our own redemption! When they asked us to burn all our fields, We didn’t cringe, we burnt it all As it was for a purpose, for  a reason, a  burning reason,  So, i nstead of sowing grain, we sowed fire and reaped hunger and devastation!! When they asked us to send our young ones t o kill and be killed We didn’t flinch, we killed and got killed As it was a season of revenge, and rebellion, redemption Yes, it was a war to end all wars!  Wasn't it? But was' t!!
