Tikku and the lost pages part 1
Tikku was carrying his favourite book 'Winnie the Pooh' to the kitchen, where his mum was baking, and might have some time to read a bit for him. He had already checked the pictures and was quite excited, and was almost running with the half opened book in his hand.
When he got to the kitchen, his mum asked him to help her in rolling some cookies, so after putting the last batch in the oven, she could sit and read the book to him. He was chatting away about the honey trail, that he knew Winnie-the-Pooh was going on with his friend Piglet and was wondering whether they were going to get lost in the hundred acres. He wanted to find out it all, but also didn't want to know!
His mum poured a cup of cold milk for him, and put a freshly baked cookie in a plate for him, then carrying a tray with her own cup of coffee, she came outside the kitchen towards the back veranda, where they had recently put a bench and a couple of low chairs to enjoy the winter sun.
"Come Tikku, we can sit here", she patted the space next to her on the bench and soon they were both enjoying their mid-morning snack and drink together. Tikku didn't want to disturb his mum, who looked so relaxed, doing nothing, just for a few minutes, for a change, and sipping her coffee, but he was also getting restless for her to start reading. He had finished his cookie and his milk quickly, and was trying to remain quiet, and not fidget.
And suddenly his mum started to tell him the story.
One morning,
Winnie the Pooh decided, he needed some more honey
And he went past Piglets place
But he couldn't see his friend
Piglet any where,
he was not outside his house,
that day,
and Winnie the Pooh just was in a too much hurry to start his day
So he left
Tikku opened the book and asked his mum, where was she reading from? She said those were the pages that were missing from the book. He had to use his imagination to picture Winnie the Pooh in the hundred acer wood, looking for a honey pot!
Tikku liked this game, and he started to tell his mum what he was imagining.
"Yeh, Winnie the Pooh has just found the biggest honey bee comb, but he has lost the keys".
"Wow, these honey bees don't sting, his mum added, they are the stingless bees."
Ok, and I can see,
Winnie the Pooh is digging for some honey,
but his friend Piglet has not arrived".
and Pooh bear is thinking, O' Where could Piglet be?
Tikku was smiling, they had just rhymed.
And he was thinking, what adventure he wanted Winnie the Pooh and Piglet to have,
an adventure, for sure, but with a happy ending.
A lovely recollection of Winnie the Pooh!
