Teeku and the truck 2 - Teeku's flight and fright

When Teeku saw or thought he saw something bursting out of the window, flying away into thin air, he ran inside calling his mother, but she did not answer, so he quickly came out to see, if there was any clue around the window, to tell him, about "what had flown out of the window".

He looked under the window sill, but only found a few of the broken parts of his toys. He didn't remember when he had thrown them there, but was sorry that he had.

Mum always said, "If you keep your surroundings tidy, you always keep healthy and happy", yes, if it were tidy under the window, he could have found his clue easily! He thought.

He decided to go inside and check carefully, whether his mum was still in the house somewhere. So he didn't have to worry about her flying away! He also wanted to check on the red truck, and if it was still on the floor, he planned to put it away.

Well, Teeku always preferred to run rather than walk slowly, and since it was actually a bit urgent to look for his mum, and he was getting a bit worried about her, he quickly ran inside. And when he was crossing the corridor to get into the house, he tripped over something, and fell on his face, flat on the ground.

"Ouch!" It was his green truck, and the eyes on the face of the truck were shut with pain too.

"Sorry", Teeku mumbled but as he tried to get up from the floor, he realised that his foot was caught in the truck, but when he tried to free it, his whole body started to get smaller in size, and instead of his foot getting out, his whole body was now in the truck.

"Lets go and look for mum, Teeku", the truck said, "hope you are not scared of speed"!

The green truck smirked, and then it started to move, faster, and faster, and soon, it was flying off the floor, over the window.

Teeku shut his eyes, and also pursed his lips, as he didn't want the truck to know that he was scared.

He could feel the warm air on his cheeks, and when he opened his eyes, he didn't see any thin air at all! He was actually in a cloud bubble, which was getting higher and higher. And, he could see something else flying just ahead of them, and they were following it fast.

Oh, it was his red truck! Teeku could already see its four red wheels turning fast, and soon, they caught up with it.

But then suddenly, the cloud bubble they were in, started to shrink, and Teeku and his green truck got stuck in it, while the red truck escaped!

"Ohhhh"!

Teeku  screamed.  He was sure that he had seen someone in the red truck, but now it was gone into the thin air.

And his green truck was going down with the cloud. It had started to rain.

Teeku was really sad, when he got out of the green truck on to the ground. He saw his father's car in the drive way, and was not sure how he could tell his father what had happened.

Right then he heard a voice calling him in for dinner,

"Teeku, wash your hands and come for dinner, darling!"

He couldn't believe, it was his mum's voice!

He almost ran inside, leaving his truck there, but then he came back, picked up the green truck, and took it to his box of toys, and put it inside gently, and lo behold, the red truck was already there,  relieved, Teeku patted it, saying "Thank you"!

  1. At school I used to hate short stories because they were so cryptic. But you have a nice knack of rounding them off quite quickly and satisfyingly at the end. Can you test them on some kids?

  2. Yes, I'm enjoying writing these too° and good idea. Wish some kids or their parents could read these, and give some feedback.
