 hen I opened my eyes

you were there around me

when I wanted to cry

you gave me reasons to smile

when I couldn’t walk,

you taught me how to fly

when I couldn’t talk,

you gave me courage to speak volumes

when I was unsure, and shy

you taught me

to hold my head high

when I couldn’t see beyond my tears,

you opened up a channel 

of dreams for me

you let me choose

you taught me to work towards it

you let me make mistakes

but you didn’t let me fail, 

you were always there for me

you didn’t let me down

it is because of you

your love,  

your teaching that

I became, I!

No matter what happens

no matter what doesn’t

I’m unstoppable

I’m consistent 

you taught me

to work hard

but if I lose

you taught me to get up again

you taught me to hold my head high!


My father was behind me, he told me

every new thing that scares you at all,

is a joker, an Ace joker, use it

to lose your fear of it, or you lose it all.

every situation is an opportunity

that comes with its own joker

it is worthless if you don’t use it.

The concept of time, time to wake up!

Yes, the concept of time, for example to know when it is time to wake up or to go to work and time to knock off. We live by the rules and regulations of time, the movements of the two hands of our clock, or the shiny blinking digits!  These movements rule us, our life, from birth, when to be born, to even when to take our last breath!   This morning, I was listening to a program while on my regular morning walk, about how the concept of time came into being. How people knew, before and who or what told them that it was time to wake up!  The speaker was an academic of medieval studies and was talking about his research on the history of alarm clocks! How religious singing played a part in announcing every morning that it was time to pray.
